How To Prepare For a Stress Free Kitchen Remodel

The prospect of undergoing a major kitchen remodel can be stressful. After all, the inconvenience of not having your kitchen can be overwhelming. Below are some suggestions to help you gain control during your remodel.

  • Once your cabinets are ordered you could begin packing away those seldom used items. Use the process to declutter and rid yourself of items you no longer use.

  • A few days before the installation is scheduled, remove and pack up the remaining items.

  • As you remove these final items from your cupboards pretend you’re moving by labelling boxes as you pack. This will make the unpacking process go quicker and efficiently.

  • Set aside any essential items such as a coffee maker, can opener, dish soap or dishes you might need. If you own a free standing microwave oven it will come in handy.

  • Without a dishwasher or sink many people opt for paper goods, to avoid the extra cost and trash. You could wash dishes in the bathroom sink or a dish pan in the tub.

  • Make sure your collection of take-out menus is up to date and close at hand, while you may not wish to order out every night it can make life easier on some nights.

  • Stock a cooler with ice for perishable items or if you have room you could move your fridge to another room.

  • Make use of the outdoors by cooking on the barbeque weather permitting.

  • Another alternative is to check out the deli at your local supermarket as prepared meals can be purchased daily and can be a healthier choice than take out every night.

Following these tips will make things easier and have your family eating healthier during the kitchen remodel.
