5 Tips for preparing your Kitchen for the holidays

It is safe to say you will spend a lot of time in your kitchen during the holiday season. From baking cookies to preparing a big Christmas feast, there is plenty of fun to be had.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, make sure your kitchen is fully prepared for everything the holiday season may throw at you this year.

  1. Clear the clutter. There is nothing worse than having an overload of things on your counters that will take away from the valuable work space you need to make things happen.

  2. Stock your pantry and fridge with the essentials. There is no denying that you will spend a lot of time at the grocery store, buying ingredients and picking up last minute items. Why not stock up on the essential items to have on hand always. Flour anyone?

  3. Prepare your countertop for a lot of work. Do you have enough cutting boards? Do you have a place to set hot items after they’ve come out of the oven? If you’re in a rush don’t let your countertop suffer.

  4. Clean up as you go. When you know, you will be making a big mess baking dozens of cookies, or stuffing the turkey – save yourself the massive clean up at the end and clean up as you go. Fill the sink with hot soapy water to throw things in to wash when you’re in between jobs.

  5. Lastly, add some holiday cheer to your kitchen! Often the room we forget to decorate the most during the holidays. Why not add a nice vase of Christmas evergreens, or some scented holiday candles? It doesn’t have to be much to bring a bit of the holiday season to the room you will be spending a lot of time in.
